In the 90s Todd McFarlane was determined to reinvent everything that he could get his hands on from comic books to toys, he went to great lengths to create more detailed and authentic products. One of the most popular licenses from his company McFarlane Toys which released in 1998 was the Movie Maniacs and Clive Barker’s Tortured Souls which included iconic characters from horror and sci-fi such as Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Evil Dead, Chucky, Leatherface, and more. This figures were detailed and extremely gruesome and sadly ended their run in 2007, with no indication of returning except for “ The Walking Dead” figures horror was halted.

So, you can imagine how happy we are to hear that McFarlane Toys is bringing back both lines in all its gruesome and bloody detail. In an interview with IGN, Todd McFarlane said:
“So we’re gonna go back to our origins and we’re gonna go, hey, for all you people who like Tortured Souls? There’s gonna be more. For all you people who like some of the Movie Maniacs? There’s gonna be more. But even the new — the stuff we just created, like Dragons? More. Spawn? More. Twisted Tales? More.”
It was also mentioned that McFarlane Toys will begin selling direct to consumers to increase the sales of the lines in hope to have many successful series available through the years. This is a decision that is because of the recent businesses that have been selling, sadly also have been going out of business over the years. The only question now is what Movie Maniac are you looking forward to collecting?
