After more than 26 years after the TV mini-series The Stand, CBS All Access and director Josh Boone‘s (The New Mutants) have prepared a new adaptation of Stephen King‘s “The Stand”. The insane twist on this series is that King himself has rewritten a new alternate ending to the story. This new version will premiere on CBS All Access on December 17, with each new episode of the 9-episode limited series arriving on a weekly basis.
King’s vision of am aftermath after a deadly plague kills most of the world’s population, the remaining survivors split into two groups – one led by a benevolent elder woman named Mother Abigail and the other by a malevolent being of unspeakable power named Randall Flagg – to face each other in a final battle between good and evil
The cast includes Alexander Skarsgård as Randall Flagg and Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abagail.
